Research Interests
I am currently serving as the director and principle investigator of The Marriage and Retirement Study, an observational study examining the nature, correlates, and health consequences of compassionate love in a sample of recently retired married couples.
A second line of research focuses on intimate relationships earlier in the lifespan, drawing upon multiple datasets to understand how the contexts in which relationships develop predicts their success or failure (e.g., effects of stress on relationship quality; developmental antecedents of relationship success).
